SEA’S ROADflow Fusion Enables Nottinghamshire County Council To Re-Open Vital Bus Route

We've proudly provided 11 ROADflow Fusion systems to Nottinghamshire County Council to enforce bus lane contraventions in the region.

The installation of the intelligent enforcement systems has contributed to a change in driver behaviour, helping to stop motorists breaching bus lane rules and blocking bus stops, which has enabled a busy bus route to be reinstated.

Due to high levels of parking contraventions on Leeming Street in Mansfield, bus drivers had significant difficulty accessing bus stops, resulting in the withdrawal of services after 6pm. Following the installation of enforcement systems in October 2023, contraventions dropped by 60.6% and the bus route was re-opened in February 2024.

Our ROADflow Fusion is a highly versatile unattended camera solution that provides automated enforcement of Bus Lane, Parking and Moving Traffic contraventions by gathering the required evidence and presenting it for remote review by civil enforcement officers. The installation of the systems at various bus lanes and bus stops around the city has discouraged drivers from entering the bus lanes, which has increased safety on public transport links.

Alastair Cobb, Intelligent Transport Systems Director at SEA, said: “The implementation of intelligent transport systems can have a tangible impact on people’s lives. We’re delighted and proud to have contributed to the re-opening of a vital bus route that the local community relies on. The installation of the ROADflow Fusion systems demonstrates how such systems can change driver behaviour and ultimately, lead to improved road safety.”

ROADflow Fusion is a smarter enforcement solution for all types of traffic enforcement, including prohibited use of bus lanes and moving traffic contraventions such as banned manoeuvres, entering and stopping in box junctions as well as Clean Air Zones (CAZ). With over 1000 systems in operation, the ROADflow family provides a wide array of mobile and fixed enforcement options.

Paula Argyle, CPU and Enforcement Manager, at Nottinghamshire County Council, said: “Improving bus services in the region is of significant importance to the Council and the re-opening of the Leeming Street bus route is a significant step in the right direction. The impact of SEA’s ROADflow Fusion systems has been to improve driver behaviour, which has drastically reduced contraventions and, ultimately, enabled a crucial transport link to be reinstated.”
