Naval forces operate in challenging environments, which requires precision, resilience, and adaptability. At SEA, our Maritime Support & Services team serves as the backbone of naval operational readiness, ensuring platforms and personnel are mission-ready for all circumstances. The team’s experts also play a critical role in the installation and commissioning of SEA’s leading anti-submarine warfare and torpedo launcher systems.
The business takes a proactive approach to through-life capability support, seamlessly integrating maintenance diagnostics support, innovation, and training.
From identifying any potential issues, refurbishing and ensuring legacy equipment remains operational, through to deploying cutting-edge training tools, our highly trained In-Service Support Engineers can be quickly deployed around the world to identify and fix problems and ensure our customer’s platforms are fit for purpose.
Working on an international level, our team has vital knowledge, understanding and experience of capability operations across diverse conditions. From the sweltering heat of South East Asia to icy northern waters— our Maritime Support & Services team consistently delivers, regardless of servicing critical equipment in 40° temperatures or -15°.
One recent deployment showcased the critical importance of flexibility in global support. When a Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA) vessel encountered equipment issues upon arrival, our team rapidly mobilised to address the situation. By deploying engineers specially trained to operate in challenging environments, we resolved the issues on-site, ensuring the vessel was mission ready. SEA’s experts are equipped to sustain naval readiness wherever it’s needed, tackling issues such as heat-induced equipment failures, material fatigue from extreme cold, and logistical hurdles in remote or challenging locations.
In addition to onsite support, SEA’s experienced team also diagnose maintenance needs remotely to help ensure systems remain available. This is crucial for deployed platforms and often involves overcoming communication challenges – where transmission of documents and imagery may only be possible a couple of times a day – so that the issue can be diagnosed and addressed by the platform’s personnel quickly.
Working in partnership with our through-life support and training design experts, the Maritime Support & Services team provides advanced training solutions that are reshaping how naval personnel develop and maintain their skills.
Whether via delivering a formal instructor led course or sharing expertise direct to personnel “on the ground”, we’re able to provide classroom learning, hands-on experience and refresher sessions whenever and wherever needed.
With courses tailored to the specific needs of customers and evolved in line with their capabilities and technology, we help personnel to continually build upon their skillsets to enhance mission resilience and embed learnings.
As naval technologies advance, so do we to ensure SEA remains at the forefront of through-life support. Our lifecycle management strategies prioritise technical refreshes and system upgrades, as well as keeping existing capabilities operational to ensure fleets remain equipped for the challenges of tomorrow. By integrating maintenance with tailored training programs, SEA future-proofs naval capabilities while fostering a culture of readiness.
This not only maintains systems but enables naval forces to operate with confidence and efficiency across diverse environments. With our adaptive support and unwavering dedication, we are proud to sustain operational capacity and strengthen global naval resilience.
