Every year, we hold the Long Service Awards at SEA for people who’ve been part of our team for 10, 20, 30 or 40 years. This year, 12 people celebrated their decennial anniversaries at SEA.

Five people celebrated 10 years at SEA, five people celebrated 20 years at SEA, one person celebrated 30 years at SEA, and one person celebrated a monumental 40 years with us. We appreciate all of your service and loyalty.

A number of people attended a celebratory lunch at the Barnstaple Hotel to celebrate. Here’s a bit about them:

Neil Clarke is Head of Business Services at SEA, he started 10 years ago as an Electrician and Facilities Supervisor, taking on new responsibilities every year. He oversees all of our buildings, catering, security and plays a pivotal part in the upgrade projects across all of our sites, so they are modern and fit for purpose. His contribution to making sure SEA is a great place to work has been extraordinary.

Matt Clark joined SEA in 2014 as Senior Principal Consultant and is now the Complex Systems Technical Authority, focused on designing and delivering our Communications systems to many of our UK and International customers. Matt is celebrated by his team and across the company for his professionalism, his expertise, and his ability to solve knotty challenges.

Chris Tucker joined us in 2004 as an Engineering Apprentice and has played a key role in our sonar product development, namely KraitArray, and is regularly on sea trials pushing the technical boundaries of our technology and collecting data for analysis to inform future development. Chris is now our Sonar Product Technical Authority and he’s known and respected for his expertise, attention to detail and work ethic, while also considered a much-loved colleague and friend to old and new team members alike.

Paula Elkington has worked at SEA for a remarkable 30 years, moving into and throughout various roles within the Intelligent Transport Systems division. She is now an Assistant Project Manager at SEA, focused on ROADflow, helping to ensure our products are delivered to our customers on time and to standard. Paula is a truly core member of the team, known for her expert organisation and incredible people skills. She has also been a member of our Staff Council since 2019, championing the voices of our people.

Robin Redmore has been working at SEA for 40 years. Starting his career as an Electrical Inspector in 1984, Robin moved to various roles as assistant supervisor and supervisor, before dedicating himself purely to Electrical Inspection, now being Senior Electrical Inspector at SEA. His eye for detail is beyond incredible, paired with being approachable, knowledgeable and a great mentor to team members and other colleagues.

Thank you for all your contributions to SEA, and your loyalty over the years.
