SEA is proud to be contributing to the protection of front-line NHS staff working to combat COVID-19 by 3D printing parts for face shields.
In response to an urgent request for volunteers from Solid Print3D, SEA has started production at our Barnstaple site, which has the 3D printing capacity to produce the specific parts needed for the equipment, the approved design has been supplied free of charge by PrusaPrinters.
Solid Print3D have contacted around 18,000 organisations with 3D printing capabilities to join forces and assist the battle against COVID-19, so far 500 companies are participating. SEA is glad to be part of this initiative.
SEA will be sending the printed components to a central hub where they will be made into the vital PPE. The equipment will then be delivered by 3P Innovation to nurses, doctors and care workers through a network of logistic providers who help the NHS.
Steve Hill, Managing Director of SEA, commented, “As a company, we’re immensely proud to be supporting the efforts of health workers on the front-line of dealing with coronavirus in this way. The team at Barnstaple were able to configure the parts on our 3D printers at very short notice, and it is heartening for us all to be able to make a difference during this time of crisis. We thank Solid Print 3D for involving us in the project and are very willing to continue to utilise our manufacturing expertise to support key workers in any way we can over the coming months.”
