We've recently sponsored Trowbridge RFC Under 11s Team by providing them with new Tackle Bags for their practice sessions.
Adam Clements, our Head of IT and Business Systems is a coach for the Under 11s team, and his son Isaac also plays for them. Adam approached the SEA charity team seeking sponsorship for this equipment and it was approved as part of our company sponsorship scheme.
Here's what Adam said about the sponsorship: “Our season runs from September to May where we play matches against other teams in the local area every other weekend, finishing this season with the Land Rover Cup Festival on Sunday 30 April. Trowbridge RFC run a MINIs section from Little Ruggers (U5 & U6s) to U13s, then moving up to Juniors U13s to U16s and then onto Seniors. These tackle bags will come in extremely useful as we look to develop the tackling skills of our players. They will also enable us to enhance our training sessions and implement many new drills. Thank you to SEA for providing this useful equipment!”
More about Trowbridge Rugby Club
Trowbridge Rugby Club was founded at a General Meeting held in the George Hotel on 18 December 1931. The club was formed, like most sports clubs, as a result of efforts by people living in the town who were interested in playing the game. A public meeting was held under the chairmanship of Mr. Bob Emerson, and the committee was appointed 'to formulate a scheme for the organisation of the Club. One of the members of that Committee was Ken Merrett, who was to be an officer of the Club until the mid-1960s and became the Club's first Life Vice-President.
